Opportunity Knocks

Like working with schools and other community groups? Want to help 1U financially? The Board is creating a Building Use Committee to work with schools and others that would like to use our campus on a long term basis. The Committee will also set Building Use policy and report to the Board. If you are interested, please contact Mary Dipboye (mdipboye@yahoo.com)

UU Wellspring Gathering June 13

Join us on Sunday, June 13 at 4:30pm to 8:pm for a gathering of our participants for fellowship and to consider deep questions and issues.  UU Wellspring is a year-long spiritual deepening program that provides opportunities to deepen your identity as a Unitarian Universalist, find hope in these trying times, and deeply connect with your UU faith and with one another. We hope you will join a group next year! All of the information, calendars, and registration are found here.

Please register HERE. New participants, register by June 1 (but we will only close registration when the program fills). UU Wellspring registration is going strong. We will be adding a Thursday 7 p.m. session co-facilitated by Linnea Nelson and one other person. There is still space in the Tuesday afternoon Sources (first-year program), the new Thursday evening Sources, and Faithful Actions (for those who have already taken Sources).

We are looking forward to a wonderful program!   Contact Linnea for more information at linnea19@gmail.com.

What’s the Deal with Our Mango Tree?

Soon – but not yet – it’ll be time to pick mangoes from the tree in our parking lot. The tree, bless her heart, has been shedding extra fruit, getting herself ready to ripen and sweeten the best of what she’s got. When it’s ready, the 1U Gardeners will pick the tree bare and have a drive-through give-away. Last year, we gave away 200 pieces of fruit. This year’s giveaway is probably three to four weeks away. The tree will let us know. In the meantime, there are dozens of not-quite-ripe mangoes in a basket at the front of the garden. Come get some. They’ll ripen, turn yellow and pink, at room temperature. Want to make ’em ripen faster? Put them in a brown paper bag. Enjoy. Questions? Contact Rene Stutzman.

New Here?  Welcome!

Whoever you are, whatever you are, wherever you are on your journey, we bid you welcome.  Our buildings are closed, but the church is OPEN with lots of virtual offerings:
