As you consider publicity for your event, decide which communication outlets are appropriate. Here are some to consider:
Weekly Update (eblast): Items for the weekly eblast are due at email@example.com by 5:00 pm on Wednesday of each week. (If the week contains a holiday, the deadline is moved up to Tuesday at noon.) The eblast is sent out on Thursday and published to the website. Items should be as short as possible while providing needed information such as: who, what, where, when, how, and why. Links to additional information are encouraged.
Weekend Update (wraps around the Sunday Order of Service): Items for the weekend order of service are due at 1:00 pm on Tuesday of each week at firstname.lastname@example.org. Items should be as short as possible, while providing needed information such as: who, what, where, when, how, and why. Separate inserts are due at the same time and will be included in the order of service for two weeks. Inserts should be formatted in a way that is ready to print (half a legal size page or smaller), and color printing is to be avoided.
Website: To have an item posted to the website, send the information to email@example.com. Information about groups or committees must be submitted by the chair of that group or committee.
FaceBook: To publish a notice or create an event for 1U FaceBook, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please be sure to provide complete information including: who, what, where, when, why, and how.
