4th Sunday Paganism 101 (Series of 10) 4pm – 6pm, via Zoom
“Paganism 101: A Unitarian Exploration of the New Paganism” is originally by Louse Bunn with Fritz Muntean and Kara Cunningham. We have adapted the 2022 series of 10 classes for Zoom. Class is on 4th Sundays from 4pm – 6pm. You can email firstname.lastname@example.org to put your name on the waitlist to be notified when registration opens on Jan 1, 2022.
Students will first learn the names of different pagan paths and a little pagan history, and then will “learn by doing.” Each week we will learn about a different altar tool and/or pagan practice, and then hold a class “mini ritual.” A new component will be added to the ritual structure each time so that by the end of the series, the student understands all the ritual parts and knows how to hold a full ritual on their own.
Students completing the course will also be able to describe some misconceptions of paganism, describe how modern paganism relates to Unitarian Universalism, recognize the solar wheel of the year and points on it, recognize the lunar cycle, recognize the four elements, and more.
This class is an active and powerful way to engage with the Unitarian Universalist sixth source — “the spiritual teachings of Earth-centered traditions that celebrate the sacred circle of life and instruct us to live in harmony with the rhythms of nature. ”
