YOGA

Come be a part of a wonderful journey together as we share one breath, one body, one mind at 1U every Tuesday from 6:00 to 7:00 pm in the newly remodeled Studio, which is in the Enrichment Center.

About Yoga

The practice of yoga encompasses several elements such as breath control, strength building, stretching, and meditation. Hatha yoga, our primary focus, consists of physical postures both active and passive. Hatha in yogic texts represents the sun and moon. Thus, Hatha yoga means the practice of uniting the sun and moon.

This practice not only enhances the physical body, it invites an exploration of the unfolding and unification of mind and body. Experts and beginners alike can benefit from this practice as it really brings together the foundation of yoga. Aliments or areas of pain are addressed at the beginning of every class, allowing for opportunities to focus on a particular posture that aids in the movement of healing. Yoga can be very dynamic, interactive, and personal to the student incorporating other forms upon request.

About the Instructor

This class will be led by our very own Melissa Rosario, a certified yoga teacher. Melissa trained at Guruv Yoga’s 200hr Teacher Training program in Lake Mary, Florida, and graduated in August of 2011; she’s been teaching ever since. She has been a devoted practitioner for many years and shares that “yoga has completely changed my life. I look forward to sharing my practice with you.”

What to Bring

The suggested donation is $10; however, no one will be turned away. All levels are welcome, from beginners to advanced. Join us Tuesday evenings on the mats (bring your own or borrow one from us).
