Important Minister Search Survey
The 1U Ministerial Search Committee has been hard at work this Summer, learning about and preparing for certain roles. Now, we’re ready to launch the first major project in the process—the Congregational Survey—and this is a task that requires one unique and important voice: yours!
The Congregational Survey is the chance for 1U members, friends, visitors, and staff to provide the Search Committee with valuable information to guide the remainder of the search. With the survey results, we will be able to further develop the next steps of our journey: preparing questions for cottage meetings and focus group discussions; better describing our congregation’s strengths, opportunities, and goals to ministerial applicants; and informing us of what qualities in a minister might best serve our congregations.
To complete the Congregational Survey, plan for about thirty minutes of focused time. During the survey you will provide basic demographic information, and will reflect on your past experiences in 1U, the congregation’s current needs, and the possibilities for our future. You’ll note that parts of the survey will ask for your wishes, but for most of the survey, we’re asking for you to reflect on what you perceive to be the needs of our congregation as a whole, both now and in the future. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to ministry, and no minister can do everything all at once; these questions will help all of us recognize that addressing the greatest needs of our congregation will also serve each of us as individuals.
Completed surveys will be collected August 9th through September 10th. You can complete the survey on your computer here, or as a PDF that you can print, fill out, and mail or hand-deliver to the church here. If you wish to request a hard copy of the survey, to complete it via phone, or to complete it in person with appropriate social distancing, or if you have any questions along the way, please contact 1U Search Committee member Elizabeth Horn at email@example.com or 770-769-2442 (call or text).
Thanks for the time, energy, and thought you put into completing our Congregational Survey. You are a vital part of this conversation.
