Sorting and Packing Days

1U has a Second Harvest Food Sorting and Packing Day on the first Saturday of even-numbered* months from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. Second Harvest is located at 411 Mercy Drive, Orlando. Watch the Weekly Update (aka the eblast) for any updates or changes.

Requirements

Participants must wear closed-toed shoes. Students over the age of 10 may attend with parent or guardian. A short training occurs before each session, so newcomers are welcome! Willingness to enjoy yourself and recognize the good you are doing are the only other requirements. For info, contact Steph at foodbank@orlandoUU.org.

FOOD PANTRY

Still Needed: Collections for Food Pantry

The need for items at local food pantries is as great as it ever has been. If you are able to share with others, please bring canned and dry goods in their original (unopened) containers and place them in the large blue bin in Gore Hall. We are back to having a regular pick up by Semoran Food Pantry. If the bin is full, place the items next to the bin. Thanks for sharing your bounty with others. Examples of items to donate are:  dried or canned beans, peanut butter, canned fish and meats, fruit snacks, canned vegetables, rice, pasta, crackers, etc.
