Tai Chi is a gentle group exercise open to both First Unitarian Church (1U) members and the local community. Classes include both qi gong (energy work) and three simple tai chi forms. With regular practice, health benefits can include improved balance, lower blood pressure, greater flexibility, mental relaxation, and more. Many participants are older and have health issues they’re working on.
Tai Chi is a one-hour class that can be done standing or seated. Wear loose, comfortable clothes and flat-soled shoes, unless you need more foot support.
Requested donation of $5 (facility fee) goes to 1U; no one will be turned away for not being able to pay. For more information, email email@example.com.
Outdoor activities on the 1U campus have resumed, with masks and social distancing. We are now practicing on the Labyrinth. Restrooms are available.
Please arrive a few minutes early if possible, since we start promptly at 9:00. If you arrive late, you’re still welcome; just come in quietly and join us. Please silence cell phones during class!
