“With One Voice” Part 1

With One Voice brings together mystics from fourteen different spiritual traditions to share their perspectives on the unifying truth that transcends all religions. In this 78-minute documentary these awakened teachers address profound questions about life and love, the existence of God, the path to spiritual awakening and the way to true peace in the world. Through their words and compelling presence they ask us to look within our own hearts and listen deeply so we too can join the conversation and speak With One Voice. Part 2 will be March 27. We’ll show 40 minutes at each session with discussion after.

Christian UUs Conversation – 12:30 pm, EC Room 18  (Note: location change)

We are a diverse community at 1U, and people in our congregation find strength in many different spiritual ways, with many different practices. As an Intern Minister, Rachel Christensen wants to learn to minister to all those in our congregations. If you identify as a Christian, you are invited to a conversation about how we are supporting you in your spiritual path and how we might better serve you as your religious community.

Watch the film 42 with us! (This is a homework assignment for participants in the Beloved Conversations course.) Maybe you’d like to learn more about Jackie Robinson’s story. Maybe you love to see a free movie with friends. Or maybe you’re ready to join a discussion about race and racism in America. Whatever your reason, you are welcome. Bring a bag lunch if desired; desserts and beverages will be provided. Hosted by Kathy and Dan Homblette. Summary: In 1946, Branch Rickey (Harrison Ford), legendary manager of the Brooklyn Dodgers, defies major league baseball’s notorious color barrier by signing Jackie Robinson (Chadwick Boseman) to the team. The heroic act puts both Rickey and Robinson in the firing line of the public, the press and other players. Facing open racism from all sides, Robinson demonstrates true courage and admirable restraint by not reacting in kind and lets his undeniable talent silence the critics for him.  PG-13.
