All who are currently part of Caring Circle (CC), have been part in the past, or who just want to know more about Caring Circle, are invited to meet in the Assembly room from noon-1:00 pm on Sunday, March 17.  A light lunch will be served.

We will compile a list of contact persons for each month, enjoy lunch, share ideas for the best communication and organization. Please be on time for our noon start so we can end on time. Those of you who have been involved in CC will be welcomed to share your experiences, ideas, and suggestions. It’s helpful to RSVP to CaringCircle@OrlandoUU.org, but ok to just show up at the meeting/lunch on March 17! We are a community of folks who care about and for each other and we need your help.

Members of the Caring Circle offer kind, practical, tangible efforts to other church members who may be experiencing significant joys, concerns, sorrows, or changes in their lives. Those who volunteer to be Monthly Coordinators follow up on Joys and Concerns expressed in Sunday worship, as well as notices from the minister or other church members about short-term circumstances that may need attention. Other Caring Circle members may serve by providing (on occasion) one or more of the following: phone calls, greeting cards, rides to church events or medical appointments, and/or help with meals, pet care, etc., during a member’s period of recuperation. Please contact our CC coordinator, Linda Piantieri at CaringCircle@OrlandoUU.org for details or to participate in this ministry of our community. CC contact for February is Bev Alig who likewise may be contacted at CaringCircle@OrlandoUU.org.

Still Needed: Collections for Food Pantry

The need for items at local food pantries is as great as it ever has been. If you are able to share with others, please bring canned and dry goods in their original (unopened) containers and place them in the large blue bin in Gore Hall. We have a regular pick up by Semoran Food Pantry. If the bin is full, place items next to the bin. Thanks for sharing your bounty with others! Examples of donatables are: dried or canned beans, peanut butter, canned fish and meats, fruit snacks, canned vegetables, rice, pasta, crackers, etc.

Update Your Contact Information!

Keeping in touch with 1U members and friends is important. You can help keep those communication lines functioning by alerting the office about changes in your contact information: email address, street address, preferred phone numbers. Having current contact information allows 1U to keep you in the loop with all kinds of information about events. It is also vital that current information is available for electronic banking arrangements. Contact Amy Fairweather at churchadministrator@orlandouu.org or call the church office at 407-898-3621. We appreciate your help with this!

March 2 — Seeds of Intention Workshop, 9:30 am-5:00 pm, Enrichment Center Assembly Room

Think new-year resolution…but attainable and sustainable. Marna Rasmussen and Melissa Baker will offer a workshop dedicated to manifesting a remarkable year. Sponsored by the 1U Pastoral Associates, this is the first in a year-long series. Those interested will gather to gain clarity on that which no longer serves us and on what we wish to bring to fruition in our lives.

“It will be a day that marks a moment of rebirth for each person present. We will burn away old ideas, former identities, labels that were placed upon us by others, and limitations that were once perceived, but are ready to fall into glowing embers and turned to dust. And into the fertile earth each will plant the seeds of their intentions, to be nurtured and supported, watered and nourished, loved and cherished… all the way to a bountiful harvest. As this tribe gathers to clear individual plots of land, they will lend a hand to those who might have a boulder that needs adjusting, and in return someone will shine a light to reveal the very best spot for new life to grow. How lucky are we to have all we need to blossom into fullness?”

More information here:  Registration begins at 9:30 am. Lunch is provided (coffee, water, hot tea included). Cost: $65 cash only; 15% of all proceeds donated to 1U General Fund. Only $50 for 1U Active Members. Bring:  items of comfort (for a day of sitting, meditation, and labyrinth walking), favorite beverage, journal for keeping insights.
