Building the Dream Update
Thank you to everyone who came to the Congregational Meeting to discuss the Building the Dream project. We appreciate the support that the team has received as well as the great questions and thoughts. Having the congregation so involved and invested in this project for such a long time is impressive and we are grateful. The congregation strongly voted “yes” on both having the project be a high-quality renovation and on the direction and timeframe that we’re exploring with our new contractor, MPaul. We are hoping to have the first round of plans and costs in the next several weeks and we will share them with you as soon as we possibly can. There were a few questions on the finances of the project during the meeting. Our Capital Campaign Chair, Marty Haynie, will be at coffee hour this Sunday to answer any questions you may have. We will have more information on all of it as the construction costs and financing are finalized. Please also email us at email@example.com with any questions. The Campus Renovation Project website is now updated as well – check it out!
End of Program Year Pot Luck Lunch June 12

Rachel and Eric will be around for the next year but Rachel will not be functioning in a ministerial role, just sharing worship with us while she completes the rest of her process.
Next Blood Drive Could Be Our Last
Our next blood drive here at 1U is coming up June 12 from 8 am-1 pm. All blood types are needed. Each unit of blood that is collected can save up to three lives. Please be part of a strong donation showing on June 12. Questions? Blooddrive@orlandouu.org.

First Sunday Fellowship
1U members and friends gather in various parts of Orlando (Winter Park, East of 436, Downtown, West Orlando, Conway, South Orlando, so far) for neighborhood connections. These are opportunities for social interactions, a meal and/or beverage, and the chance to expand relationships. Unlike “Dinner with Friends,” groups are meeting at neighborhood restaurants, not individual homes. If you are interested in learning more or finding a group near you, contact Kathy Homblette at Fellowship@orlandouu.org. Times and locations vary.
Minister’s Day Off
Rev. Kathy is changing her day off to Fridays. Thursday will be her writing day, which means she will typically be focused on worship preparation. Therefore, her most available days (aside from Sunday) will be Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.
Please Do Not Leave Packages of Any Kind Around the Campus Buildings
If you are bringing items for the Alliance or any other activity, please plan ahead. Make sure a staff person or other church member will already be at the church to take the package(s) and put them in the right place. Thanks for your cooperation.

Pastoral Care Associates
Pastoral Care Associates are fellow 1U members who have been especially trained to provide a confidential, caring presence to congregants undergoing stressful life challenges. Through this minister-extending program, members can receive compassionate care when they are in pain, sick, lonely or struggling with changes. It can be comforting to know you’re not alone and it helps to have someone from 1U’s faith community listen, care, and offer support. If you are in need, contact our Pastoral Care Coordinator at pastoralassociates@OrlandoUU.org.
1U Caring Circle
Members of the Caring Circle offer kind, practical, tangible efforts to other church members who may be experiencing significant joys, concerns, sorrows, or changes in their lives. Monthly contact people follow up on Joys and Concerns expressed in Sunday worship, as well as notices from the minister or other church members, about short-term circumstances that may need attention. Other members serve in providing phone calls, greeting cards, rides to church events, medical appointments, meals for a while, pet care, etc. Please contact our Caring Circle coordinator Jenny Lockington at CaringCircle@OrlandoUU.org for details or to participate.

Become a Home Hospitality Host
On occasion, 1U has the opportunity to host other UUs for events like District Assembly, Choir Festival, District meetings, and other events. Some of our fellow UUs who come into town for a day or two to join us and/or use our facilities appreciate being welcomed into our homes for the night to cut down on hotel expense while getting to know us. If you have space in your home to host a guest or two, please consider joining in this Hospitality offering! Email firstname.lastname@example.org to be added to our database to be contacted about opportunities as they arise.
